In the fifth inning of the third game of the 1932 World Series in baseball, famous batter Babe Ruth ‘called the shot’ – pointing towards center-field before batting his famous home-run. The audacity of this move really shook the opponents (Chicago Cubs) – and a true legend was born.
Today, I am calling my shot – to start blogging about some of my key interests in life apart from my family. (My family is no. 1 – and they will stay private for now.) On this blog, you will get my take on finance, healthcare, startups, tech, entrepreneurship and leadership.
I will share key takeaways from books and blogs that I read and podcasts that I listen to.
I will also share something I call ‘Network Effects’ – where you could benefit from knowing what is going on in my network of contacts – or where you have the opportunity to add value to the network, through your unique contribution.
To broaden my perspective and enable some creative destruction / discussion – I want to hear your views – don’t be a stranger!
If you want to stay tuned, please subscribe/follow the blog!
To blog is a great way to share thoughts and help others. It also makes the writer more aware of him/her self. When you write you have to think, check facts and sometimes learn more before you post.
Myself I blogged mostly about outdoor and travel for 10 years. But now it’s on hold, it maybe can come to life again in a new way later.

Good points, Mattias! What are your key reflections about blogging now vs 10 yrs ago? How do you interact with your older content? And your readers?

The journey have strengthen my believe about two things that is important for me.
1) Have a great visual presentation, make it easy for the reader to find information that is there.
2) Have a high density of information in my post – i.e. if I refer to something, include a link so the reader can check facts.
Once I was out hiking and couldn’t find the path. So I found a blogpost in a hiking blog about that area. The author wrote ”It was difficult to find the path and the signs”. But he didn’t write any information about where the path was, and didn’t describe the signs.
Myself – I would put up a photo of the sign. Add insight, add information – so the reader can gain something from you.
One of the reasons I had to stop blogging was that I wouldn’t be able to present material with enough quality right now. If the quality isn’t good enough, don’t do it.
If a reader write a comment, I try to write back within hours. Always help the reader to go further. If my blogpost doesn’t give the answer I google the information and write in the comments.
A blogpost is a ”child of it’s time”. Writing about traveling – something I enjoyed five years ago, I could have another opinion today. But I don’t change old posts – but I could add a Post Scrip with more information.
By the way – if you want to read.
